LYSISTRATA

ANCIENT GREEK COMEDY REVITALIZED IN FRESNO,
AUGUST 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 2010
FRESNO, CA–
Modernizing an ancient classic, Theatre JʼNerique will perform Lysistrata, a comedic
Greek play written by Aristophanes and adapted by Randall Stump.

Based on the ageold controversy of peace vs. total destruction, the women of Greece take it upon themselves to handle the affairs of state and foreign policy to ensure a lasting peace. In formulating reason, the women refuse to sleep with their husbands until all war is resolved. Complemented by a few musical numbers, the plot turns are fast and furious as the men and women battle for a long and lasting peace.

Performances will be held at the Broken-Leg Stage theatre at 1470 N Van Ness Ave,
Fresno, CA, just north of Fresnoʼs Tower District on August 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, and 21,
2010.

Curtain is at 7:30pm, with additional performances on Fridays and Saturdays at
10:00pm.

Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door half an hour before each
performance, or reserved in advance at (559) 442-5041

An “after hours” performance by Suicide Lounge will accompany the late show performances on August 13, 14, 20, and 21, 2010. Admission to the Suicide Lounge performance is included with Lysistrata ticket purchase on those evenings. Tips to support the Suicide Lounge “after hours” performance are encouraged.
